The Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation (PRHF) is proud to recognize Walk for Her organizer Lana Gorr for her outstanding leadership and dedication in raising an incredible $134,658 in support of local cancer care.

 

Since its inception in 2021, the Walk for Her has become a cherished annual community event, uniting participants from across the Ottawa Valley in support of women facing cancer. Funds raised through the walk directly benefit the Chemotherapy Unit at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, as well as the purchase of high-priority equipment for breast cancer surgeries.

 

“The impact of Lana’s commitment and the community’s generosity cannot be overstated,” said Roger Martin, Executive Director of the PRH Foundation. “Through Walk for Her, we are able to enhance cancer care close to home, ensuring that patients can receive the treatment and support they need right here in Pembroke.”

 

Organizer Lana Gorr began Walk for Her in 2021 with the vision of supporting women battling cancer and improving access to high-quality care in her community. What started as a small, heartfelt initiative has since grown into a major fundraiser, inspiring countless individuals to take part each year.

 

“I’m truly overwhelmed by the community’s continued support,” said Ms. Gorr. “Every step taken and every dollar raised makes a difference for someone’s mother, sister, daughter, or friend. Together, we’re walking for hope, strength, and healing.”
