Heroes Run For Healthcare Returns May 3rd
14/4/2026
Capes, costumes, and community spirit will take over Downtown Pembroke as the annual Heroes Run for Healthcare, presented by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, returns on Sunday, May 3rd.
This family-friendly fundraising event supports vital healthcare close to home and features two signature races:
• the 2K Superhero Run for children aged 12 and under, proudly presented by Bradley Law, and
• a 5K timed run, presented by MacEwen.
All proceeds from this year’s event will help fund the purchase of a new CT Scanner for Pembroke Regional Hospital.
“This year’s Heroes Run for Healthcare will directly support enhanced diagnostic care for our community through the purchase of a new CT Scanner,” says Leigh Costello, Community Fundraising Specialist with the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation.
Event Chair Sarah Selle says participants are encouraged to get involved in fundraising for a chance to win exciting rewards.
“There are amazing prizes up for grabs,” Selle explains. “Anyone who raises $100 or more will be entered into a draw for a brand new Apple Watch, and the top overall fundraiser will take home a $500 gift certificate prize.”
Selle adds that online fundraising tools make it easy for participants to share their page and collect pledges digitally.
The popular 2K Superhero Run promises an unforgettable experience for younger participants. Event organizer Tammy Blackmore encourages families to dress up and join the fun.
“The 2K superhero themed kids run is packed with fun, featuring favourite superheroes and movie characters, mission stops with treats, and a superhero cape for every finisher. Each young hero receives a mission bag at the start line to collect treats along the route and earns their very own cape upon crossing the finish line.”

Participants can register online at www.heroesrun.ca or by contacting the PRH Foundation office at 613 732 2811 ext. 6129.
